Throwback - "Meet The Team" Afterwork with the French Women's Rugby World Cup Squad!
The FNZCCI was thrilled to organise a meet-and-greet and Q&A session with players of the French Women's RWC squad for the French-Kiwi community!
The French Women's Rugby World Cup squad arrived in New Zealand last weekend and are looking strong ahead of the Rugby World Cup 2021, having finished third in five of the previous eight editions.
Organised by the French New Zealand Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FNZCCI) Women and Leadership Committee, in collaboration with Alliance Française Auckland and with the support of the Embassy of France in New Zealand, it brought the FNZCCI team great pleasure to be able to coordinate this special meet-and-greet and Q&A session with a selection of players from the squad for the French-New Zealand community. We were also honoured to be joined by Brigitte Jugla, Vice President of the Fédération Française de Rugby (FFR).
Our very own Hélène Toury, FNZCCI Vice President and Women and Leadership Committee Chair, led the lively and animated Q&A session with the French players. It was really insightful to hear their thoughts about what inspired them to start rugby, their journey towards becoming professional players and to discuss with Brigitte Jugla the role of the FFR in empowering women and their representation in the world of rugby.
The French players also kindly met with their French-Kiwi fans, chatting, signing autographs, t-shirts, rugby balls and even brought along an official jersey to give away via lucky dip to one happy winner!
