We're hiring! The FNZCCI is looking for a General Manager.

About the FNZCCI

The French New Zealand Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FNZCCI) was created in 1985 from the desire to foster trade and develop stronger business relationships between France, French Pacific Islands and New Zealand. The FNZCCI is an independent not-for-profit organisation governed by a Board of 12 members. Today the organisation counts 130+ members from various industries and continues to expand, recruiting new members every year. Our head office is based in Auckland, we have a chapter in Wellington and are currently developing another in Christchurch.

The FNZCCI is affiliated with CCI France International, a worldwide network of 126 French Chambers operating in 95 countries.

The FNZCCI's mission is to promote our members and help French, New Zealand and French Pacific companies succeed through information, networking opportunities, events and initiatives and business support services.

Key Responsibilities

As General Manager of the FNZCCI you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and Business Development of our organisation. Responsibilities will also include the delivery of business advisory services to our membership and French companies that are exploring opportunities in New Zealand via Team France Export.

You will work in collaboration with the FNZCCI Board, the Event and Communications Manager, V.I.E. support team (Volontariat International en Entreprise / French International Internship Programme) and our membership; ensuring constant communication at all levels of the organisation.

This is a challenging but rewarding position that will offer you the opportunity to develop your General Management, Business Development, Project Management, and International Business skills. You will report directly to the Co-Presidents of the FNZCCI, and liaise with the Board, to work towards the following objectives:

  1. Responsible for FNZCCI operations and project delivery

  2. Responsible for the management of the day-to-day team

  3. Achieve member satisfaction and foster our network's business opportunities

  4. Develop and increase the FNZCCI membership base and diversify our industry representation

  5. Team France Export advisor, in charge of business advisory services for French companies looking to enter the New Zealand market 

  6. Identify business opportunities and viable income streams

  7. Work with the Board to implement a short and long-term strategy

Requirements

  • Proven experience with project management

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Experience in business advisory services (international experience is a bonus)

  • Sales experience

  • Passionate about building long-term membership and external partner relationships

  • Customer centric, previous use of CRM recommended

  • Managing deadlines is a key strength

  • Independent, proactive, problem solving mindset with a strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Fluent English, Business Professional Level French

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications

Due to the FNZCCI Board members’ professional schedules (i.e. all the Board Members volunteer at the FNZCCI, meaning that they have their professional occupation during the day and they volunteer for the FNZCCI outside of business hours), the job applicant would sometimes be required to work outside of the “normal” business hours for internal meetings and events.

The working language in the FNZCCI is English - French is used if all the speakers are French or confident using this language.
