Best French Restaurant

Poivre et Sel

Samuel & Severine Goslin, French husband & wife, have decided to start a new life in New Zealand with their two children, Morgane & Mathis in 2011. After a few years of working and living in different regions of the country, in 2015, they have created Poivre et Sel to bring a little piece of France in Aotearoa. They have recently chosen to install their romantic restaurant on the iconic Marine Parade in Napier in one of the Six Sisters buildings, the ideal edifice to create the glam touch they love to provide.

They offer a good selection of regional wines but the French wines are the most successful. Poivre et Sel is a small family restaurant, offering a unique tasting menu which changes weekly according to the season and the market. Each dish is paired with a French wine for customers who desire it. A la carte wines are also available.

They are looking forward to make your dinner memorable.

French Kiss Wellington

French Kiss Creperie adventure started 2,5 years ago when Pierre Emmanuel (French living in New Zealand since 2016 as engineer) met Charly who suggested the idea of bringing french cuisine in New Zealand malls.

After few months the idea became reality at Queensgate shopping center in Lower Hutt (Wellington region) where they have open their first shop in June 2019.

Even tho they didn’t expect this mondial pandemic which affect a lot of businesses especially in hospitality, French Kiss Creperie is running and now becomes the local desert place to be in Lower Hutt.

They offer a range of yummy sweet and savory crepes (galettes) and our focuses are:

- To promote local suppliers (eggs, honey, ham, fruits and veggies…), even their packaging supplier is based in Lower Hutt

- To challenge Kiwis and get them to try the savory galettes following our typical Brittany recipe

For all Wellington region inhabitants or travelers, come to visit their kiosk and try one of their crepes!

La Marée Sofitel

In French La Marée’ means ‘the tide’ which represents the restaurant’s ocean side locale.  This natural ebbing and flowing of the waters mirrors the seasonality of the produce utilised to create our dishes.

La Marée’s cooking philosophy is to harness the culinary traditions of France, together with NZ’s finest seafood, and transform them into culinary masterpieces.

La Marée’s philosophy is - there is no compromise when it comes to ingredients. Their kitchen team works in harmony with the seasons using only the freshest, finest and ethically sourced produce. If an ingredient comes in that is not of quality, they alter the menu and create something new. At La Marée, they utilise only what’s best at that time of year, ensuring they deliver you the best cuisine.
