About the event

We are pleased to invite you to the launch of FNZCCI "Building and Infrastructure Committee" with a breakfast event and a presentation on how the Link Alliance is implementing Building Information Modelling (BIM) and digital engineering processes throughout the project from design to completion to deliver City Rail Link, New Zealand's largest transport infrastructure project.

The Link Alliance is delivering the main stations and tunnels of the City Rail Link. The Alliance is comprised of construction firms VINCI Construction Grands Projets, Soletanche Bachy International and Downer New Zealand and design firms Tonkin and Taylor, WSP and AECOM, alongside City Rail Link Ltd.

The $4.4B project involves constructing 2 new underground stations at Aotea and Karangahape in Auckland’s city centre, redeveloping the existing Mt Eden station, and connecting the new stations to the North Auckland Line with 3.45km of bored and mined tunnel.

More about the speakers

Pierre Bourgeois - Link Alliance Board Chairman.

• Pierre has a Civil Engineering degree from Ecole Centrale Paris (1984).
• His 32 years in the industry began in Denmark with a tunnel project: the Storebelt Tunnel.
• This followed with bridge and tunneling projects in Lesotho.
• Between 1995 and 1999 Pierre was Construction Manager and Deputy Project Director, on the Xiaolangdi Dam in China. 
• Pierre has progressed to Hong Kong Branch General Manager for VINCI Construction Grands Projets via roles in Sweden and Paris. 
• Pierre sees his Project Alliance Board Chairman role as guiding, encouraging and supporting people to achieve all City Rail Link project requirements in a collaborative and efficient manner.

Thibault l'Hôpital - Link Alliance Mt Eden Station Project manager

• Thibaut is highly qualified in engineering with a MSc Degree (2004), Major in Construction/Civil Engineering and Project Management (3rd year specialisation), and a BSc Degree (2001).
• Thibaut has worked for client, designer and contractor organisations over the past 14 years.
• With projects such as the Early Retail Sector development for Commercial Bay in Auckland and high-end construction projects in London and Monaco, he has managed complex projects.
• While working for Candy & Candy in London, Thibaut managed a multimillion-pound refurbishment of a heritage-listed private residence.
• With ‘perfection’ required every step of the way for a high-quality finish, Thibaut gained valuable skills which he brings to the construction of Mt. Eden Station.

Brice Godin - Link Alliance BIM Manager 

• Brice has 7+ years experience working with BIM, and is an acknowledged expert in the field.
• Brice has been working on various buildings and infrastructure projects in England, France, and Canada.
• Projects demonstrating the development and coordination of BIM management include A45 Highway in France and Femern Link in Denmark.
• As BIM Manager, Brice has applied his management skills to develop high standards in the coordination of work packages to assemble a cohesive and quality BIM model.
• His work on Crossrail C512 and Thames Tideway demonstrates his ability to align BIM with strict code of practices such as BS1192.
• Brice was involved in Mandarin Oriental Luxury Hotel refurbishment as BIM Manager for BIM d’Or 2016 International Category Winning Project.
