In May 2016, a young woman, Chanael Lenoir contacted the French New Zealand Chamber of Commerce and Industry with an idea. Her plan was to come to New Zealand to open a Dans le Noir? restaurant. This dining in the dark concept is already very successful in Paris, London, and Barcelona, where people flock for a unique sensorial experience and which has led to many other events being hosted worldwide.
Dans le Noir ? became a member of the FNZCCI and we then provided Chanael with key contacts to conduct her market research. Chanael also came along and enjoyed our Tuesday evening drinks where she established several interesting connections. Now a few months later, we are proud to announce and support the opening of
Dans le Noir ? at the Rydges Hotel in the heart of Auckland city on March 24th
In this 60-seat venue, there will be between 1 and 3 shifts per day from Thursday to Sunday (schedule available online). The restaurant will welcome guests for regular dining as well as for special events such as business functions, teambuilding and tastings (available on request).
The restaurant will offer a fine dining experience adapted for enjoying in total darkness . Choose from three surprise menus, expertly conceived by the team of Owen Rarity, the Executive Chef: Trust the Chef, Seafood and Vegan,. Wine Matching will enrich this unique sensorial experience further.
