Paneton Limited  is an Auckland based family owned bakery that supplies authentic French pastries and breads to a variety of customers in retail and wholesale. We are passionate about what we do and are always on the go, often with pastry or two in hand, so you will need to have the right balance of agility and structure.

About the Role

Paneton Limited has significant opportunities for growth in existing and new markets.

We are seeking an outgoing, passionate Sales Manager with exceptional communication skills to build a sales culture by developing and driving the sales strategy to drive sustainable profitability for both Paneton's fresh and frozen business.  You will need to manage and provide motivation to our sales team and ensure that the notion of 'quality' is instilled across all aspects of your dealing with the team as well as internal and external stakeholders. 

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive the sales strategy to achieve sustainable profitability across all areas of Paneton business

  • Establish sales reporting metrics and KPI's at a Company and individual level as well as manage forecasting

  • Ensure that the financial targets are met

  • Manage the sales team

  • Foster a performance based culture that is stimulating and where quality is paramount in everything we do

  • Identify NPD opportunities that are in line with Paneton's brand values to support ongoing sales growth

  • Submit monthly reports on set business performance targets to Managing Directors

  • Be an active member of our 'Leadership Team'

  • Monitor the market, industry and bakery trends

Success Criteria

  • A track record of success in FMCG Sales in retail or Foodservice (or a similar industry)

  • Experience in building, managing and motivating high performance sales teams

  • Previous experience in a small to medium sized entrepreneurial style business( could be beneficial)

  • A strong understanding of pricing and commercial acumen

  • Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to travel domestically if and when required

  • A good sense of humour

  • Strong but friendly relationship building skills

  • A real desire and passion to make a difference to small food business

  • Passion for good food and premium brands (being a Francophile would be a bonus)
