Paneton Bakery is an Auckland based family owned bakery that supplies authentic French pastries and breads to a variety of customers in retail and wholesale. The operations run 24 hours per day over multiple shifts. We are passionate about what we do and are always on the go, often with pastry or two in hand, so you will need to have the right balance of agility and structure.
About the Role
The position is based at our new Auckland bakery and reports to the Production Manager. It includes responsibility for leading the production teams for delivery on a suite of operational metrics This role is a new position resulting from realignment of operational structure to support growth our business is experiencing and planning
The environment is fast paced, serious, but fun.The position takes serious ownership for production floor favourable processing outcomes, acts as coach and mentor and motivator to individuals and teams. The supervisor will ensure that health and safety of all staff contractors and visitors across his/her watch is without compromise.
Ensure that a "safety first" culture is adopted across the team at all times
Supervise production staff across all production unit operations providing clear direction and instruction
Monitor production, people, process and process outcomes ensuring that quality and food safety is paramount
Coach, mentor and develop staff to ensure that our team grows and develops in a positive way
Ensure that a performance based culture around quality is fostered
Be accountable for the completeness and accuracy of end to end production documentation at all times
Responsible for the daily /weekly/monthly production performance reporting as set by the production manager
Evaluate continually the operational activities with a continuous improvement mindset
A track record of success in FMCG or bakery (or a similar industry)
Experience in building, managing and motivating production teams
Previous experience in a small to medium sized entrepreneurial style business (could be beneficial)
Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
Strong organisational and planning skills
Food Safety knowledge would be advantageous
A strong understanding of bakery production could be advantageous
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
Has some flexibility with hours of work
Strong but friendly relationship building skills
A real desire and passion to make a difference to small food business
